Expired listing become RFQ instead of inactive

As a user, I still enjoy the wide array of listings on Eezee. I should be able to look at items even as they become OOS or Obsolete.
Now that the product listing has an expiry feature, upon expiry, should it be RFQ instead of being inactive?
To fully mark it as inactive, perhaps it should only be performed by the Seller or PIMs?

Hey Shawn, we had a great discussion about this in msia.
We both agreed that a concern still remains, if majority of the search results are rfq only, it will hurt the user experience. Which means that these products shouldn't be searchable on eezee.
I also shared with us that in the past, the RFQ feature didn't have any traction. That's why we didn't build it in our revamp of the shopfront. Would take at least 3 weeks(this feature costs aprox 15k) to build the frontend, server side & admin system UIs.

great idea, it should work for new markets like Malaysia and Indonesia.
1) time taken for suppliers to upload products can be too long.
2) intend to scrap the data of suppliers and uploading into ghost account to get traction in terms of SKUs available on Eezee
3) to manage above listing, we will set an active till date of 1 month and continue to engage suppliers monthly to get price and stock update
4) instead of deactivating the listing, a RFQ format will allow new users to search for item and to request for particular item instead of reaching out to other sources to purchase
Above method should allow us to manage our ghost listings better while not absorbing any losses on price and quality of service to our clients.

Darius Ong: thanks for the additional context, I especially like the pro-active approach in point three.
Terrence Jasper let us know your thoughts, would love your perspectives for discussion!
